“We must rapidly begin the shift from a “thing-oriented” society to a “person-oriented” society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered.”—
I was thinking about protests and the people who go to smash things up. I don’t particularly agree with it but when you think about what they’re protesting against; a government who are pretty much taking away people’s right to learn, putting people out of their jobs and making life so much harder for the majority of the country, FOR MONEYS SAKE, they care more about property damage than the people who are doing the damage. Those people are the ones suffering these shitey decisions. It just goes to show they dont give a shit about the right things when you see more media coverage of Topshop’s front wondow getting smashed in than interviews with students or the politicians letting us know how they’re going to make it up to us.
As long as people carry on caring more about material things like that I think it’s totally justifiable to want to take out anything material that gets in the way of these people seeing what really matters.
